Joining the fight.

One in every four women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime.

This is just one of many reasons why I chose to design a series of posters that seek to both raise awareness and help educate about the issue of domestic abuse.

I designed these posters during my last semester at Iowa State. However, I recently have had the opportunity to display them in the counseling department of the Chariton Family Medical Center (located in Chariton, Iowa, where my family lives! :] ) Many therapists in this department focus on counseling women who have been victims (or are still victims) of abuse, so the department felt that my posters would be appropriate to hang in their office. I gladly obliged! :] I have always hoped to actually help make a difference through various projects that I design.

I was able to visit the hospital recently and took some photos of my work on the wall. These posters can also be viewed on my portfolio website, at  http://cargocollective.com/meghann...
